Natures
The 25 natures, which stat each raises and lowers, and the berry flavour it dislikes.
Every Pokémon has one of 25 natures. Twenty of them raise one stat by 10% and lower another by 10%; the other five are neutral and change nothing. HP is never affected.
The nature is shown on the Summary tab of a Pokémon's Summary, next to its ability, with the stat it raises and the one it lowers, for example "Adamant (+Atk / -Sp. Atk)".

How the change is applied
The nature is applied last. Each stat is first worked out from the species' base stat, the Pokémon's level, its IVs and its EVs; then the raised stat is multiplied by 1.1 and the lowered one by 0.9, rounding down. A stat of 100 becomes 110 or 90, and a stat of 55 becomes 60 or 49.
These are the Generation 3 formulas. Stat stages in battle (see Stat stages) apply on top of the result.
Disliked flavours
Each nature dislikes the flavour that goes with the stat it lowers:
| Lowered stat | Disliked flavour | Berry |
|---|---|---|
| Attack | Spicy | |
| Defense | Sour | |
| Speed | Sweet | |
| Sp. Atk | Dry | |
| Sp. Def | Bitter |
A Pokémon holding one of these berries eats it in battle when its HP drops to a quarter or less, and gets HP back. If the berry's flavour is one its nature dislikes, it also becomes confused. The neutral natures dislike nothing.
A nature never changes
A Pokémon's nature comes from its personality value, which is decided when the game creates the Pokémon, as it is caught or received. The server records that value then and refuses any later change to it, so the nature stays the same when the Pokémon levels up, evolves, is traded or is put in the PC.
With a Synchronize Pokémon in the lead, wild Pokémon always have the lead's nature (see Abilities).
Differs from the mainline games
There are no Mints, so a nature's stat effect cannot be swapped for another one as in Generation 8 and later.
