Sandgem Town and the Parcel
Chapter 2: Professor Rowan's lab, the Pokédex and an errand from home.
Walk east along Route 201 into Sandgem Town. Go into Professor Rowan's lab and talk to him: he lets you keep your Pokémon and gives you a Pokédex.
Sandgem Town also has a Pokémon Center and the house of Rowan's assistant.
North of town is Route 202. The first time you try it, Rowan's assistant sends you home to tell your family. That is the normal order of the story. Go back to Twinleaf Town: Mom gives you a journal, and Barry's mother comes over and gives you a Parcel for Barry.
Then go back through Sandgem Town to Route 202.
