10. The Bicycle and the Explorer Kit

Walkthrough

With Team Galactic gone, Cynthia is waiting outside the Cycle Shop in Eterna City. She has a Pokémon Egg she wants you to look after. For now she only tells you about it and goes on her way; the Egg itself comes later in the story.

The owner of the Cycle Shop is back behind his counter, and he gives you a Bicycle to thank you. Register it in your Bag so you can get on and off with one button. You cannot ride indoors, and some gates only let you through on the bike.

The Underground Man lives a few steps north of the Cycle Shop. On your first visit he gives you an Explorer Kit and offers to teach you about the Underground. You can say no; the kit is yours either way. The Underground is not open yet, so the kit has no use for now.

Until you have both the Bicycle and the Explorer Kit, two of the town's exits are held: a Pokémon Breeder on the road south, toward Cycling Road, turns you back without an Explorer Kit, and a Bug Catcher on the west exit, toward Route 205 and Eterna Forest, turns you back without a Bicycle. With both in your Bag, those roads open again. South of town is the gate to Cycling Road, which is the next chapter.
