Walkthrough
This chapter is a side trip, not part of the story: Wayward Cave lies under Cycling Road, and you can go in as soon as you reach the ground path below the bridge on Route 206. Get off the Bicycle at the bottom, walk north under the bridge, and step onto one of the mats at the foot of the rock to go into the first floor. One part of the first floor is behind rocks that need Rock Smash, which the Coal Badge from Oreburgh lets you use outside battle; the lower floor needs nothing more.
Differs from the mainline games
In Platinum the first floor is dark and needs Flash. For now, the first floor is lit, so you can find your way through it without Flash.
Ten trainers wait on the first floor, in pairs that face each other across the passages, with Pokémon around level 20. Wild Bronzor, Geodude, Zubat and Onix live on both floors at levels 17 to 20; how often you meet Geodude and Zubat changes with the time of day.
In the east of the first floor, past the rocks, a girl called Mira has lost her way. Talk to her and she asks you to take her to the exit. You go on foot while she follows, and she fights at your side with her Kadabra (level 26) until you reach the mat back out to Route 206, where she thanks you and says goodbye.
Stairs on the first floor lead down to the lower floor, and the lower floor is why most people come: Gible lives there, at levels 17 to 20 and at any hour. It is the only place in Sinnoh to find one in the wild.
