12. Old Chateau

Eterna Forest, Old Chateau.

Sinnoh is in progress: this guide covers Twinleaf Town to the bottom of Cycling Road on Route 206 and grows with each release.

Walkthrough

This chapter is a side trip, not part of the story: the Old Chateau is the old house at the back of Eterna Forest, and you can visit it any time after you have the Forest Badge. Three small trees block the way to its door. With the badge and Cynthia's HM01, cut them and go in; Cheryl stops by the first time you try.

Nobody lives in the Old Chateau any more, and no trainer waits inside, but wild Gastly haunt every one of its nine rooms, at levels 14 to 17. Now and then you may also catch sight of a figure in the dining room or one of the back rooms; it is gone before you can reach it.

At night, check the TV in the back room on the west side. A Rotom at level 20 comes out of it and battles you. You get one try a night, and once you have caught it there is no second Rotom; by day the TV only hums.

The rooms hold a Rare Candy, a Big Pearl, an Old Gateau (it cures any status problem), a Dread Plate and TM Substitute (TM90). Each is there once, even where the same item shows in two rooms.
